University of Sydney (USYD) Courses

Admission to the Master of Science in Medicine (Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Development) requires:

• successful completion of an embedded degree program (graduate certificate or graduate diploma) with a minimum credit average; or
• a bachelor degree in a health or science-related discipline with honours; or
• a bachelor degree plus a postgraduate degree in a health or science-related discipline; or
• a pass bachelor degree in a health or science-related discpline plus a minimum of 12 months relevant work experience.

Admission to candidature requires:

• a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification and either the completion of relevant postgraduate studies or a minimum of two yearscoaching/sporting experience at an elite level; or
• Level 2 National Coaching Accreditation Scheme accreditation or equivalent and either the completion of relevant postgraduate studies or a minimum of four yearscoaching/sporting experience at an elite level.

Admission to candidature for the Graduate Diploma in Criminology requires a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney; or an equivalent qualification.

To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have:

• an Australian bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification or
• three years relevant industry experience and certifications (e.g. certification from the Project Management Institute) or similar

Admission to this course requires:

• A bachelor's degree or higher award in medical radiation sciences from the University of Sydney, or a qualification deemed by the faculty to be equivalent, OR
• A Graduate Certificate in Medical Imaging Science or equivalent qualifications deemed acceptable by the Faculty

Admission to the Graduate Diploma in Science in Medicine (Sexual and Reproductive Health) requires:

• successful completion of the embedded Graduate Certificate in Science in Medicine; or
• a bachelor or postgraduate degree in a health or science-related discipline from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification.

To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have:

• an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree in the relevant discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification, or
• an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent, and five years relevant professional work experience, or
• the relevant University of Sydney Graduate Diploma in Engineering or Graduate Certificate in Engineering with a credit average (65 percent).

Entry in the 1 or 1.5 year degree program is determined by the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) criteria below.

Admission to candidature for 1.5 years full-time requires:

• a bachelor's degree with a major in English Literature and a minimum credit (65%) average calculated over the whole degree, from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification.

Admission to candidature 1 year full-time requires:

• completion of the requirements for the embedded Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in English Studies with a minimum credit (65%) average, or an equivalent qualification; or
• an Honours degree in a relevant discipline.

If you do not meet the requirements listed above for direct entry to the Master's degree, you may be able to enter via a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in the same subject area and upgrade to the Master's after successful completion of the shorter course.

Admission to the Master of Architectural Science requires:

• a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification; or
• completion of the requirements of the embedded graduate diploma; or
• completion of the requirement of the graduate certificate with a weighted average mark of at least 70 across all the units attempted for the award.

To be considered for admission, an applicant is required to have:

• an Australian bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification, or
• an Australian bachelor's degree or higher in an unrelated discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification and relevant professional work experience (typically three years), or
• an Australian bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline with less than a credit average (minimum 50 percent required) or equivalent qualification and satisfactory performance in the GMAT (for guidance, the class average score is 630) or equivalent Business School approved admissions test.

Admission to candidature for the Master of Education requires:

• a Bachelor of Education from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification and either the completion of postgraduate studies, or professional experience equivalent to one year full-time in a field considered by the School to be appropriate to the program of study; or
• a bachelor's degree and either the Diploma in Education or Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification; or
• a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification and either the completion of postgraduate studies in Education, or professional experience equivalent to two years full-time in a field considered by the School to be appropriate to the program of study.

• an Australian bachelor's degree in an unrelated field and two years professional work experience in health or international development.
