Before beginning their course of study for the degree of BEnvDes(Hons) students shall have:

Students who have completed Year 1 of the Bachelor of Engineering (Specialisation) with Honours or the Bachelor of Maritime Engineering (Specialisation) (Honours) may be permitted to transfer to the combined Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering (Specialisation) with Honours in Engineering provided they have passed all units comprising Year 1 with a GPA of 4.5.

Students who have completed Year 1 in a cognate area (for example, a Bachelor of Science) may be granted entry to the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering (Specialisation) with Honours in Engineering program on a case by case basis.
