Associate Degree

Domestic Applicants

We recommend students enrolling in this course undertake at least one day of paid or volunteer work in a classroom setting. If you are providing home schooling we recommend that you are registered with the Home Education Advisory Council to provide home schooling.

To be eligible for an offer, you must have an ATAR of 40 or above. This is the minimum ATAR needed for your application to be considered. Applicants are ranked by ATAR and offers made based on the number of places available.

Applicants who have recently completed senior secondary studies but have not received an ATAR may still be eligible for admission. We will consider your study plan and subject results on a case-by-case basis when we assess your application.

If your application is not approved, the UTAS admissions team will work with you to find the best alternative pathway to your chosen course.

Honours provides students with the opportunity to engage in educational research at an appropriate level as preparation for future higher degree study. BEd(Hons) program will normally be completed in one full year or two years part time.

Bachelor (Honours)

The Bachelor of Psychological Science and Bachelor of Laws with Honours is an on-campus 5-year full-time course offered by the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics and the School of Law and is available at Hobart. The first year only is also offered at the Launceston and Cradle Coast campus.

Entry Requirements

For admission to the Master of Health Service Management, you must have:

  • a completed undergraduate degree at Bachelor level (AQF level 7) or higher (or equivalent#) majoring in a management and/or health related discipline and employment within the health sector; OR

  • a completed postgraduate degree (AQF level 8) or higher or equivalent level standard in any other institution in any discipline and employment in the health sector; OR

  • a completed undergraduate degree at Bachelor level (AQF level 7) or higher (or equivalent) in an unrelated discipline and a minimum of two years relevant work experience in the health sector.

For admission to the Master of Health Service Management, you must have;

In addition, international applicants must provide one of the following:

  • IELTS 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0)
  • TOEFL (iBT) 88 (no skill below: Reading 16; Listening 16; Speaking 18; Writing 22)
  • PTE Academic 58 with no score lower than 50
  • Successful completion of English for Academic Purposes 2 at the University of Tasmania with a minimum overall score of 65% (no individual score less than 60%); or provide evidence that you have approved Prior Studies in English (https://www.utas.edu.au/international/applying/entry-requirements/english-language-requirements).

These tests must not be more than 24 months old.
