University of Sydney (USYD) Courses

A successful applicant for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Biostatistics will hold:

• a bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, science, psychology, medicine, pharmacy, economics, health sciences or other appropriate discipline from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification.

Admission to candidature for this course required

• a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor with a credit average (65 percent) from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification.

A successful applicant for admission to the Graduate Diploma in Advanced Nursing Practice will hold:

• a pre-registration nursing degree with a credit average from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification; or
• an embedded graduate certificate or diploma in this discipline from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification
• be a registered nurse in Australia or overseas.

Admission to the course requires:

• a medical degree from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification.

A successful applicant for admission to the Master of Biostatistics will:

• hold a bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, science, psychology, medicine, pharmacy, economics, health sciences or other appropriate discipline from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification; with a minimum credit average mark of 65 per cent or equivalent, or;
• have completed the requirements of the embedded Graduate Diploma in Biostatistics with a minimum average mark of 70 per cent across BSTA5002, BSTA5004 and BSTA5210.

To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have:

• an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree in the relevant discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification or
• an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent, and five years relevant professional work experience.

A successful applicant for admission to the Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) will hold:

1. Current general registration as a registered nurse.
2. A minimum of two years full-time equivalent as a registered nurse in a specified clinical field and two years full-time experience of current advanced nursing practice in this same field.
3. A postgraduate qualification at Australian Qualifications Framework Level 8 in a clinical field.
4. Evidence of confirmed support to complete all professional experience requirements of the course.

Admission to this course requires:

• a Bachelor degree from any discipline; or
• experience which is considered to demonstrate the knowledge and aptitude required to undertake the units of study.

A successful applicant for admission to the Master of Clinical Trials Research will:

• hold a bachelor's degree with first or second class honours in a relevant discipline from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification; or
• hold a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Trials Practice from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification with a credit average in at least 12 credit points of core units; or
• have completed a graduate diploma in a relevant discipline from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification; or
• have completed the requirements of the embedded Graduate Certificate from the University of Sydney with a credit average, or equivalent qualification.

To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have:

• an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree with a 65 percent average, or equivalent qualification, in a related field of engineering to which the student is applying.

A secondary education qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), OR approved higher education study, including approved preparation courses.
