University of Sydney (USYD) Courses

Admission to the course requires:

• a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification; or
• equivalent professional experience of no less than three years in a relevant field such as journalism, public relations, media relations or media research.

Admission to this course requires:

• a Bachelor degree from any discipline.

Applicants who do not meet the requirements for admission into this degree may wish to consider applying for entry into the Graduate Certificate in Sustainability.

Admission to the Master of Public Health requires:

1. completion of the requirements for the embedded Graduate Diploma with at least a credit average in the core units of study; or
2. a bachelor's degree in public health, medicine, medical science, nursing, allied health (including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, optometry), dentistry, veterinary science, education, communication and journalism, science, arts, psychology, social science, political science, policy analysis, government, international relations, engineering, architecture, mathematics, law, economics, commerce, business, accounting and marketing from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification.

Admission to candidature for the Graduate Certificate in Publishing requires:

• a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney, with a major in the humanities or social sciences, or an equivalent qualification; or
• in the absence of a bachelor's degree, evidence of three years equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.

A successful applicant for admission to this course will hold:

• a Bachelor of Dentistry, Doctor of Dental Medicine or Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Sydney or equivalent institution;
• Or an equivalent qualification that is recognised by the Australian Dental Board (Limited Registration for postgraduate training/supervised practice) and with a curriculum acceptable to the school.

In addition to these criteria, admission to this course requires:

• at least two years general dental practice; completion of the primary Fellowship Examination of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons or its equivalent is desirable
• all applicants must be registered with the Australian Dental Board for practice (limited registration for international candidates) prior to admission to the program.

Applicants must demonstrate commitment to the particular specialty that they are applying for, such as through participation in short courses or continuing education programs aligned to that particular specialty.

All applications will be ranked according to academic merit after the application closing date. Successfully ranked applicants will be invited to participate in an interview with the Sydney Dental School. Some specialist programs also require applicants to sit an examination as a component of the admission process.

Admission to this course requires:

• a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification; or
• completion of the requirements of the embedded graduate certificate with a weighted average mark of at least 70 across all units attempted for the award.

Graduate Diploma students may apply to upgrade to the Masters at the completion of their program (with a weighted average mark of at least 70).

For admission to this course:

• You must hold a Bachelor degree from any discipline;
• You must not have previously completed a major in Psychology; and
• You must have successfully completed Psychology 1001 (PSYC1001) and Psychology 1002 (PSYC1002) or equivalent introductory psychology units within the last 10 years.

You are required to submit evidence (e.g. academic transcript and unit/subject descriptions unit of study outlines) of successful completion of Psychology 1001 and 1002 or equivalent with your application.

If you have not yet completed Psychology 1001 or 1002, you can apply to undertake these units through Science Undergraduate Non-Degree Study at the University of Sydney in the regular semester or in the January Intensive.

To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have:

• an Australian bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Commerce, Engineering, Social Sciences, Health, etc.) with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification or
• an Australian bachelor's degree (with honours) in an unrelated discipline, or equivalent qualification or
• an Australian bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification and relevant industry experience and certifications or
• a University of Sydney Graduate Diploma/Graduate Certificate in Project Management with a credit average (65 percent).

To be eligible for admission, you must either:

• be enrolled in an undergraduate degree or combined degree program at the University of Sydney and have approval for concurrent enrolment from the Deans of the Faculties; or
• be enrolled in an undergraduate degree or combined degree program at another recognised tertiary institution; or
• have been awarded, or be eligible for the award of, an undergraduate degree from a recognised tertiary institution.

Admission to the course requires:

• completion of the requirements for the Master of Medicine (Critical Care)
• an average mark of at least 75% in 24 credit points of compulsory and/or stream specific units of study; and
• any other requirements as stated by the Faculty at the time of application.

Admission to the Master of Architectural Science requires:

• a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification; or
• completion of the requirements of the embedded graduate diploma; or
• completion of the requirement of the graduate certificate with a weighted average mark of at least 70 across all the units attempted for the award.

Admission to the Master of Heritage Conservation requires:

• a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification with a credit average mark across all units; or
• completion of the requirements of the embedded graduate diploma; or
• completion of the requirements of the graduate certificate with a weighted average mark of at least 70 across all units attempted for the award.
