University of Sydney (USYD) Courses

Admission to the course requires:

• a medical degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification.

• Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited four year bachelors degree with honours in psychology from a higher education provider, gaining at least first class honours or equivalent.
  • The bachelors degree with honours must include a major research project and thesis as an essential part of the degree.

• You must satisfy the Head of the School of Psychology (or delegate) of your personal suitability for the practice of clinical psychology through your application, references and selection interview.
• Applicants for the MCP/PhD must additionally meet the PhD admission requirements.

Non-Australian qualifications (if relevant)

• The Australian Psychological Accreditation Council (APAC) provides information on APAC accredited psychology qualifications in Australia.
• The Australian Psychological Society (APS) assesses non-Australian qualifications for APAC equivalence. All qualifications obtained from a non-Australian Higher Education Provider must be assessed as equivalent by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) before an application may be submitted.

Admission to candidature for this course requires:

• a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney; or an equivalent qualification

Admission to the course requires a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney; or an equivalent qualification.

Admission to the Master of Architectural Science requires:

• a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification; or
• completion of the requirements of the embedded graduate diploma; or
• completion of the requirement of the graduate certificate with a weighted average mark of at least 70 across all the units attempted for the award.

Entry in the 1 year or 1.5 year degree program is determined by the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) criteria below:

Admission to candidature for the Master of Strategic Public Relations (1.5 years full-time) requires:

• a bachelor's degree with a minimum credit (65%) average calculated over the whole degree, from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification.

Admission to candidature for the Master of Strategic Public Relations (1 year full-time) requires:

• completion of the embedded Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Strategic Public Relations with a minimum credit (65%) average, or an equivalent qualification; or
• an Honours degree in a relevant discipline; or
• relevant professional work experience and a bachelor's degree with a minimum credit (65%) average or an equivalent qualification.

If you do not meet the requirements listed above for direct entry to the Master's degree, you may be able to enter via a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in the same subject area and upgrade to the Master's after successful completion of the shorter course.

To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have:

• a pass in bachelor's degree with a credit average (65 percent) in a quantitative discipline; or
• an honours bachelor's degree, from the University of Sydney, or qualifications deemed by the faculty to be equivalent; or
• a University of Sydney Graduate Diploma in Complex Systems with a credit average (65 percent), or equivalent qualification.

A secondary education qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), OR approved higher education study, including approved preparation courses.

Admission to the course requires:

• a medical degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification.

Admission to candidature for this course required:

• a bachelor's degree from any discipline other than Law.

We also welcome applications from law graduates with a degree from a non-common law jurisdiction. These applicants may receive credit for some of their previous studies toward the JD.

Domestic students are assessed on the better of a combination of a secondary school leaving qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate and completed tertiary study or completed tertiary study by itself. Applicants are ranked by merit and offers for available places are issued according to the ranking.

International students are assessed on completed tertiary study. They are assessed using a minimum rank and offers are made according to this minimum standard.

To be considered for admission, an applicant is required to have:

• an Australian bachelor's degree or higher with a minimum 60 percent average or equivalent qualification, or
• the University of Sydney Graduate Certificate in Commerce with a credit average (65 percent).

Admission to this course requires:

• an undergraduate degree in architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, town planning, urbanism, geography or a related field; or
• completion of the requirements of the embedded Graduate Certificate with a WAM of at least 65.

Based on the applicant's undergraduate performance, the Program Director reserves the right to require a portfolio of work indicating relevant design interests and capabilities for admission. A portfolio should only be provided if requested by the Program Director.
