University of New England (UNE) Courses

A candidate shall:

(a) hold a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of New England or an equivalent AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification in a relevant discipline*; and

(b) have achieved a GPA of 5 in at least 18 credit points at 300-level in Computer Science.

(c) Normally, candidature for the degree shall commence at the beginning of either Trimester 1 or Trimester 2 of the year following that in which the candidate qualifies in terms of Rule (b).

*Relevant disciplines include:

Computer Science

Information Technology

A candidate shall:

(a) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree; or

(b) hold an AQF Level 8 Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma, AQF Level 9 Masters or AQF Level 10 Doctorate degree; or

(c) satisfy UNE by means of other relevant* professional experience by submitting a Statement of Service from your employer/s; a resume outlining a minimum of three years' full-time (or equivalent) relevant* professional experience and training undertaken in the past 10 years.

* Relevant disciplines include, but are not limited to: Counselling, psychology, social work, nursing, mental health nursing, community services, children's services, youth work, care for the aged, care for the disabled, residential client care, welfare, mental health support and pastoral care.

A candidate shall:

(a) hold a AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification in the same or another health, business or management discipline from a recognised education provided; or

(b) satisfy UNE by means of other relevant* professional experience by submitting a Statement of Service from your employer and/or a resume outlining a minimum of three years' full-time (or equivalent) relevant* professional experience.

* Relevant disciplines include, but not limited to: Counselling, psychology, social work, nursing, teaching, human resources, life coaching, community services, children's services, youth work, care for the aged, care for the disabled, residential client care, welfare studies, human welfare studies, pastoral care and medicine.

A candidate shall:

(a) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline*; or

(b) for international students, hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline and enrolling for the Intelli Education Group (IEG) Pathway.

*Relevant disciplines include, but are not limited to:

Computer Science

Data Science

Information Systems

Information Technology

Mathematics

Software Engineering

Statistics

A candidate shall:

(a) hold an AQF Level 7 qualification; or

(b) have at least three years relevant work experience.

Applicants admitted under rule (b) must submit a Statement of Service from an employer.

1. Admission to candidature shall be determined by the Head of School on the recommendation of the course coordinator.

2. Except as provided in Rule 3, a candidate for admission to the honours course shall:

(a) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Education (Secondary Music) from the University of New England; and

(b) have attained a minimum grade point average of 5.0 (Credit); and

(c) have achieved 18 credit points at Distinction level or better in 300-level units in Music; and

(d) have passed units to the value of at least 60 credit points in Music, except that with the approval of the relevant Head of School, up to 12 credit points in another subject may be substituted; and

(e) have fulfilled any additional requirements prescribed and published by the school or area concerned.

3. With the approval of the Head of School a person who has fulfilled the requirements of an equivalent AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification of a university or other institution and who meets requirements considered by the school to be equivalent to those specified in Rule 2 (b), (c), (d) and (e) may be admitted to the honours course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Music with Honours.

4. The candidate shall pursue a music topic for which the University can provide adequate supervision.

1. A candidate shall have:

(a) fulfilled the requirements for the AQF Level 7 Bachelor of Economics at the University of New England; and

(b) completed units with an ECON and/or QM and/or GEPL prefix to the value of at least 24 credit points at 300 level; and

(c) passed units with an ECON and/or QM and/or GEPL prefix to the value of at least 36 credit points at 200 level or above at Credit level or better; or

2. fulfilled the requirements of an equivalent AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification and met requirements considered by the Head of School to be equivalent to those specified in Rule 1.

A candidate shall hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree from a recognised university in a related field of study, for example, Urban and Regional Planning, Geography or Environmental Science.

Applicants must meet the University's English Language Requirements for Admission Rule.

A candidate shall have:

(a) either fulfilled the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Agribusiness or the Bachelor of Business with a major in Agribusiness, or an equivalent AQF Level 7 award as determined by the school; and

(b) completed units to the value of at least 36 credit points at 300 level in the discipline; and

(c) passed units to the value of at least 36 credit points at 200 level or above with a GPA of 5 (Credit) or better in the discipline.

A candidate shall submit a Statement of Service for their work experience from their employer; and

(a) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification or above in a non-relevant discipline and at least two years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience*; or

(b) hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification or above in a relevant discipline** and at least two years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience*; or

(c) hold an AQF Level 6 Advanced Diploma in a relevant discipline** from an Australian TAFE or Registered Training Organisation and have at least four years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience*; or

(d) hold an approved AQF Level 5 Diploma in a relevant discipline** from an Australian TAFE or Registered Training Organisation and have at least five years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience*; or

(e) have at least six years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience*.

*Relevant work experience refers to a position of responsibility in any organisational or industry context.

**Relevant disciplines include, but are not limited to, Banking, Business, Finance, Human Resource Management, Leadership, Management, Marketing and Sales.

A candidate shall:

(a) hold a three-year or four year pre-service teaching qualification of a recognised University or tertiary institution (AQF Level 7); or

(b) hold a bachelor degree and a one or two year pre-service teaching qualification of a recognised University (AQF Level 7); or

(c) hold a bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) in Linguistics and a minimum Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TESOL specialisation only); and

(d) comply with the University's English Language Requirements for Admission Rule.
