Can I Apply?

It is expected that you will have achieved the Certificate II in Animal Studies (ACM20117) or Certificate II in Animal Care (ACM20121) or higher. If you have not completed a qualification you will need a suitable level of vocational training and/or work experience related to veterinary nursing. As part of the application and enrolment process you will be required to meet with one of our teaching staff to undertake an interview to determine your suitability, career outcomes and work history.

It is recommended that you have satisfactory numeracy and literacy skills to undertake this course, which will be determine by undertaking a Literacy, language and numeracy online test.

As all of our course delivery features a combination of on-campus and remote (online) learning and we use a online Learning Platform we recommend for all students undertaking the course that they have a suitable and stable internet connection, have access to a portable device ie laptop to be able to access classes, class and learning materials and upload assessments.

If you are enrolling in this course as part of a Traineeship, you must have employment in the relevant industry before commencing the course.

To apply, you must be over the age of 15 years and have signed an apprenticeship training agreement between yourself, your employer and a registered training organisation such as Kangan Institute.

It is also recommended that you have satisfactory numeracy and literacy skills to undertake this course or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course.

You will have to complete a pre-enrolment literacy and numeracy test.

How Do I Apply?

You must register your apprenticeship through a registered Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) provider in conjunction with your employer. Once you have been signed up, notification will come through our portal. Then an Apprentice Training Advisor will make contact with you to enrol with Kangan Institute.

Can I Apply?

Satisfactory literacy and numeracy skills. You must be at least 15 years old at the time of application. This qualification is suitable for an Australian apprenticeship pathway.

If you are enrolling in this course as part of an apprenticeship, you must have employment in the relevant industry before commencing the course. You must be registered with an Australian Apprenticeship Support Network and have a signed training contract.

If you are enrolling in this course as a Non Apprentice you must have employment in the relevant industry before commencing the course or have extensive experience in the industry. Pre Enrolment Interview required.

Can I Apply?

There are no set prerequisites for this course. However it is highly recommended that you have satisfactory numeracy and literacy skills to undertake this course or are mature age and have sufficient work experience.

You may apply if you have satisfactorily completed VCE or an approved equivalent course and the satisfactory completion of the work requirements (eligibility to transfer); or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course. (Mature age is anyone over the age of 18 who has been out of full-time education for more than 12 months.)

Please note:

Applicants are expected to have a demonstrated capacity in learning, reading, writing, oracy and numeracy competencies to Level 4 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).

Students are required to work independently and use support from a range of unfamiliar and/or unpredictable resources; read complex text with specialised vocabulary; embed information in a justice context; and conduct complex analysis, which includes extracting, extrapolating and reflecting on information and some abstract themes.

Students will be required to be able to use a personal computer, including basic word processing, spreadsheet, electronic communication platforms and internet search engines

Along with direct applications, the Diploma of Justice (22594VIC) is also offered through VTAC; therefore full-time VTAC applicants must lodge their applications using the VTAC Online Application. Details of the application process can be obtained through the VTAC website or through the VTAC Guide which is available from leading newsagents and libraries.

As part of the enrolment process a staff member will be in contact with you to provide you with information about the course.

You will be required to complete Literacy, Language and Numeracy online assessment, suitability task, and pre training review interview.

Can I Apply?

Entry to the Certificate I in Work Education (22566VIC) is intended for post compulsory school age learners with evidence of a permanent cognitive impairment / intellectual disability.

In exceptional circumstances compulsory school age learners with evidence of a permanent cognitive impairment / intellectual disability may be enrolled in the qualification, provided Kangan Institute can confirm:

  • the learner's Secondary School is unable to meet their needs

and

  • the learner has a level of behavioural maturity that would allow them to develop the communication and interpersonal skills expected in the workplace.

- BSBHRM411 Administer performance development processes;

- BSBHRM412 Support employee and industrial relations;

- BSBHRM415 Coordinate recruitment and onboarding; and

- BSBHRM417 Support human resource functions and processes.

Equivalent competencies are predecessors to these units, which have been mapped as equivalent.
