University of Southern Queensland (USQ) Courses

Entry Requirements Completion of an Australian university three year bachelor degree in any area (or equivalent) and completion of the Graduate Diploma of Counselling at USQ and: have a grade point average (GPA) of 5 or higher from the courses in the Graduate Diploma of Counselling (USQ) (or equivalent); and provide two satisfactory Referee Reports and a report to address the Selection Criteria indicating the applicant's abilities to successfully undertake the professional and research components of the program; and participate in an interview with a panel of School staff. Staff will also take into account dispositional and behavioural characteristics observed in previous USQ residential schools from the Graduate Diploma in Counselling. There are two different admission requirement processes depending on whether the student is studying stream 1 – the qualifying Master of Counselling, or stream 2, the Master of Counselling (Advanced Practice). English Language Requirements You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. This program requires a minimum of IELTS 6. 5 or equivalent. Entry Requirements Approved 3-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in the area of creative writing, English, or other equivalent discipline. For candidates with a bachelor degree, or equivalent, in a non-related discipline, USQ’s Graduate Certificate of Editing and Publishing can provide a pathway into the Graduate Diploma of Editing and Publishing. English Language Requirements You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. This program requires a minimum of IELTS 6. 5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program. Entry Requirements 3-year bachelor degree such as Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Creative Arts, or other approved award at USQ or another accredited tertiary institution, with a minimum GPA of 5. 0        or Completed USQ's Postgraduate Certificate in Business and have a minimum of 2 years full-time (or 4 years part-time) industry/professional work experience.  Students intending to undertake research or project work should note that selection of any research topic is subject to the availability of an appropriate supervisor and students must accept faculty guidance in their selection. Entry Requirements Candidates must have an appropriate degree, such as a Bachelor of Laws; a Bachelor of Laws (Honours); a Juris Doctor; or an international equivalent. Applicants who do not hold a law degree but have an equivalent qualification approved by a legal profession admissions board are also eligible to apply for entry. Entry Requirements Completed a 3-year bachelor degree in the area of nursing from an Australian university, or equivalent. Hold a current Professional Registration as a Division 1 nurse, or equivalent, with either Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or relevant regulatory body in applicant's home country.   A minimum of one years' professional work experience. English Language Requirements You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. This program requires a minimum of IELTS 6. 5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program. Admission pathways A formal process of Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) will be used to assess registered nurses, without bachelor degrees, who wish to gain entry to the program on the basis of equivalent experience or qualifications.
