Entry requirements

Applicants are required to have:

Completed a Graduate Diploma or equivalent with a credit grade average in the same specialisation.

Practiced as a Registered Nurse for at least six (6) months fulltime equivalence since graduation from a university program, prior to start of the Course.

Also, applicants must provide:

Evidence of Ahpra registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse with no restrictions or conditions.
A personal statement, CV or resume which states the area in which the applicant works as an RN and for the length of time.
Evidence of confirmation of employment.

Midwives must have a nursing qualification to be eligible to apply. The Course is not available to midwives who do not have a nursing qualification identified in their curriculum vitae.

1 Synthesise advanced theoretical and technical disciplinary knowledge in a specialist nursing area of practice.

2 Critically analyse complex health and social issues and apply specialised nursing knowledge and skills to implement evidence-informed solutions.

3 Initiate, collaborate and lead solution-focused strategies to optimise health in a specialist nursing practice area.

4 Evaluate and communicate strategies used to optimise health in a specialist area of nursing to a range of audiences, incorporating independent evidence-informed judgement.

Graduates of the Master of Clinical Nursing will be equipped with knowledge and skills to enable them to function at an advanced level within practice. The course recognises the ability of expert practitioners and provides them with an appropriate professional qualification.

Course structure

Students will complete 150 credit points of study, comprised of a 50 credit point specialisation, 50 credit points of core study and elective units and 50 credit points of capstone units.
