About this course

Get exposed to the latest legal technologies, work with well-renowned experts, and create real-world change.

Legal Tech Studio is focused on understanding how innovation is operationalised in practice. Industry guest lecturers from organisations such as Victoria Legal Aid, KPMG, Westpac, L'Oreal and other NewLaw firms and Tech Startups will share advice and insights.

Participants will apply cutting-edge research and design techniques to solve authentic problems that benefit either the business of law or enhance access to justice.

The purpose of the unit is to facilitate the development of entrepreneurial and practical skills. Human-centred design thinking, agile methodology, user experience and stakeholder management will be some of the topics covered.

Teams will create a meaningful and beneficial design question, and then create a proposed solution that meets industry standards. Throughout this innovative process, students will learn to communicate ideas, knowledge and findings effectively and professionally to a range of stakeholders, from IT, business, marketing and legal backgrounds.

In an ever-changing landscape, this is a unique opportunity to channel creativity, access networks and learn the communication, collaboration and technological competencies designed to give students a competitive edge in the future of legal practice.
