The short course examines the principles and practices associated with interpreting in healthcare settings. Topics covered include the healthcare system, communication between medical practitioners and patients, and special considerations when working with patients from CALD backgrounds. The short course is composed of presentations from experts in the healthcare field and experienced interpreters, and practical interpreting exercises to establish best practice when working in this field.

These professional development short courses are run with the support of the Department of Premier and Cabinet, State Government of Victoria.

This program comprises a combination of one live interactive Zoom session and 3 hours of self-directed learning.
The live zoom session will be on Saturday, 10:00am - 12:00pm, 18 September 2021.
