Learn the Tools of the Trade
This course is designed for students who have completed their Offshore Technical Skills Record (OTSR) and are looking at obtaining their A grade electrical licence. The course covers specific Australian regulations and knowledge requirements required to work as an electrician in Australia.
In addition to this course you will be required to complete 12 months recorded work experience (Eprofiling). Any work completed under your "L" Licence can be backdated. This course is compulsory in order to obtain your Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.
Once this course has been completed, two additional licencing exams are required by Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) the Victorian electrical regulation authority. This course will assist with the knowledge requirements for these assessments.
On the 24 December 2021, ASQA approved the entry requirements for 10809NAT Course in Electrican - Australian Minimum Context Gap be expanded to include Australian Technical Competencies Statement (ATCS) holders.
The ATCS assessment and process has been developed by Energy Safe Victoria and is an equivalent and parallel pathway that mirrors the Offshore/Onshore Technical Skills Record (OTSR) process. The ATCS is designed for Australian citizens holding overseas electrician qualification wishing to get their skills and knowledge recognised.
Now both OTSR and ATCS holders meet the eligibility requirement to enrol in 10809NAT Course in Electrician - Minimum Australia Context Gap.
