Learn the Tools of the Trade
Become an apprentice carpenter and enter the building and construction industry. The Certificate II in Building and Construction (Carpentry) Pre-Apprenticeship course will introduce you to the building and construction industry and equip you with the knowledge and practical skills needed to work safely.
This carpentry course will enable you to enter an apprenticeship and work towards your career in carpentry, with job opportunities in building inspecting and project management.
Our course delivery features a combination of on-campus and remote (online) learning. This flexibility allows our students to continue to study in a safe, guided and supported manner.
There will be extra costs for books and materials. Students are requested to supply their own basic tools and equipment, which cost approximately $190. Students need overalls, safety footwear, eye and ear protection, general stationery, reference books and drafting equipment.

You are required to have satisfactory numeracy and literacy skills to undertake this course or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course.

You will need to attend an information session and complete a literacy and numeracy LLN test and a pre-training review to demonstrate a keen motivation to complete the course.
