New Zealand Certificate in Automotive Engineering (Level 3)

This automotive qualification is designed to give you all the fundamental knowledge required to work in the industry. This is achieved through a combination of the theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on tasks similar to the daily tasks undertaken in the workplace.

There are three delivery options:

Full-time, one year
For learners who have little or no experience in automotive engineering.

Full and part-time, 18 months (Chch only)
For learners who want to work in the industry but would like to gain experience before committing to an apprenticeship. This option involves:

• 6 months full time including 200hrs of compulsory work experience, followed by
• 12 month part-time study while working in the industry

Both of these must be completed to gain the qualification.

Part-time, two years (Chch only)
